Mensur Suljovic Darts

Mensur Suljovic Darts

Mensur Suljovic is one of the best e-darts players of all time. In the first years of this millennium, Mensur dominated the soft tip area and he collected world and European championships in series.

However, his second mainstay was always the steel darts and here he should come to honor who went far beyond the Austrian borders. In addition to Andree Welge, Mensur is the only other player in the BULL'S team who was allowed to play both the BDO and the PDC World Championships.

Mensur Suljovic qualified three times for the BDO Winmau World Masters. On his debut in 1999, he defeated Ronnie Baxter before losing to eventual champion Andy Fordham in the round of 16. A year later, Mensur was even in the quarterfinals after successes over Colin Monk and Martin Adams, before another tournament winner, Raymond van Barneveld, stopped him.

Two years later, Mensur also qualified for the first and last time for the BDO World Cup. After an opening win over Vincent van der Voort, Mervyn King was eliminated in the round of 16.

With the foundation of the German Darts Corporation (GDC) the star of the "Gentle" also went up at the PDC. Mensur, together with Michael Rosenauer, determined what happened in the first two years and they shared the tournament successes.

Since 2008 Mensur has qualified for the PDC World Darts Championship every year. He celebrated his best result so far in 2011 when he sensationally knocked out the No. 2 seed list James Wade 4-2 from the tournament after a 3-1 win over Michael van Gerwen in the second round. In the second round he lost 0: 4 against Wes Newton, but the 9th place made him known beyond the national borders.

With this success, Mensur achieved cult status; his approval at the Austrian Open 2011 in Wiener Neustadt even put Phil Taylor in the shade.
